Yay!! A week's Eid holidays have begun today. We need to return to work only on Sunday next. For Mira, school will reopen on 9th May. For Ash, 12th Boards begin on 13th, so he is on study leave.
Which means we cant go anywhere or enjoy the break.
After the hols, we get busy with the children's book fair in Shj. We have already started working on articles announcing it, and I attended a presser the other day (night) when they formally announced the programmes for 12 days. Since I had to work late into the night, got a WFH the next day.
Yesterday, office was busy getting half a dozen kids to perform in some short films announcing the event. Save for an older teen girl who was confident and said her lines fast and well, the lil ones took a long time to get it right but the team was super patient.
We also had a special visitor yesterday - a colleague's Shitzu that wasnt bigger than a small cat. I dont understand why it was there as it wasnt in the film. Maybe the owner didnt have a baby sitter for the day. It distracted me for some time. Once in a while, a colleague brings their human kids to office when they cant leave them alone. Looks like it is all allowed and I think this is a really cool office.
p.s. I got my first pay cheque. (not including the freelancer payouts)
pps. Just when I take up a career here, my old Mds boss is being retired after being toppled by someone more amiable to the management. For all his Machiavellian leftist tactics, he couldnt hold on to it. Sweet revenge.
