Chiro

On cousin-in-law's last visit, he mentioned a chiropractor who has been helping him with his twisted forearm and told me I could try him for my back pain. The pain has aggravated of late, with the two-hour kitchen duties in the morning adding to the malady.

So I joined him on his next visit to the chiro. Mr Naidoo told me it was a disk prolapse that is pressing on the sciatic nerve etc and recommended a few sessions though it isnt completely reversible. He mixes a bit of acupuncture in the end to release the knot in the nerves.

More than the treatment I found the physician interesting. He is an Indian origin South African who looks more African than Telugu. His great grandfather had gone to SA to work in the sugarcane plantations. Explaining his Christian first name, the good doctor (who qualified after 7 years of study) told me that his forefather had converted to the religion while his father was a pastor of the Full Gospel church.

Almost a year in the city, Dr N has clinics in 3 locations and is chiro physician for sportstars in the country. He had earlier served the SA rugby team. The wife is a chiro too. The children have quickly adapted to glitz and he lamented his daughter's craving for all things fashion. Though he prefers their school in the homeland, he had found life there very unsafe.

On my second visit he told me: I think you are getting well sooner than anticipated. I dont think I will make enough money to buy a Ferrari!
