Food freedom

After one week of freedom - to eat as we please and sleep when we please - we are preparing for V's return from Kerala tomorrow. Haha. He had made a quick trip to see his sis and family who had come down from Australia. The President's demise on Friday gave him an unexpected 3 days leave, though he had booked his ticket before that so that he could go and return in the time gap between Ash's first and second Board exam.

So I booked a week's lunch from the Pak lady I had tried earlier during my last outdoor assignment in Feb - which V had forbade us from (I assume partly from his prejudices against Pak and Muslim people, and partly because he grumbled it was too oily and there was not enough meat in a pulao she sent one day). The children were happy and had a week's escape from mother's boring Kerala food; instead they had lasagna and rotis with malai kofta, dal, chicken karahi, keema,  and biryani.

Life is too good, I say. How I wish I could get someone else to send me food and not dirty my kitchen!
