See Sharjah

I’m covering the Sharjah Events Festival on Dec 10-11 which is a stone's throw from my place. Hence I would call it a blessing as I couldnt have gone far with V out of station and Ash having his Boards.

You can see me in a floral shirt in workshop 1 writing and (later) trying to draw a rabbit on the moon šŸ˜‚. The workshop was conducted by Mexican illustrator Gerardo Suzan who gave me an autographed copy of his children’s book. Though I suck at drawing (the last I did well were for biology practicals in school), he said it looks nice!

Since the programme was the first for the day at 4 pm,  there were no kids to attend and we reporters were the scapegoats!

Mr Gerardo looked like someone in his late 70s and was helped by his son Nicolas who translated his speech in English as his voice was very hoarse and inaudible. He came and looked at each of our creation.

Nicolas read out the Mexican myth of the rabbit on the moon and asked us to draw about it. Gerardo himself drew along with us and it was all a maze of lines and circles that looked interesting.

My report on the workshops are here. The collage shows me going to the venue in a buggy - a special gesture for mediapersons.
