The only time Ash gets up without much prodding on school days is when there is a school trip to an adventure park or similar outings. This school year, as schools gingerly experiment with onsite learning once again, big excursions are still a no no. Instead, the school took them to the most happening place here right now = Expo 2020 Dubai, which opened on October 1 and will go on till March 31. Most schools are taking their pupils on weekdays, and since it is free entry for under-18s we didnt have to shell out any cash - only eatables and drinks for the merrymakers.
There was some drama at home as the lock of the main door got jammed just as Ash was preparing to head out, and there was no way they could leave in time for the school bus. The sleeping father was summoned to help, but since it needed more professional services, I called the watchman and in about 5-10 minutes, the two watchmen managed to open the door. By then, V got ready to take kids to school. The school bus driver was still picking kids from other streets in the area, and he told V where to bring the kids instead of taking them himself all the way to school. It was just a kilometre away, and the kids made it in time.
First adventure over, they soon departed to the most talked about destination in town. Apparently, Mira and Ash could visit only 4 pavilions each (China, Pakistan, Switzerland and Egypt). Visiting all the country pavilions will take a few days, and we hope to take them with us when the weather gets cooler in a month or so.
Right now, as Mira complained, it was too hot and tiring. She however came home excited that she had made a few friends and one especially kept her company throughout. Ash couldnt meet his old friends and had to stick to his present batch in Humanities.
At last, Mira said she is beginning to like her school of three years now!
