Washing genie

When Robin said one's quality of life will improve a lot with a dishwasher, I wasn't sure. Every night i left the kitchen by 11 pm drenched and stinking after washing up for a bath. But when i started WFH, i felt enough was enough and i needed one. I offered my new savings to buy it and hubby relented.... we went for LG on the salesman's recommendation, it was cheaper than the German made Bosch and Siemens and good reliable quality. Mira seconded it owing to her love for all things Korean now.
Being a procrastinator I still leave the kitchen late but I'm definitely less tired - though stacking the dishwasher takes some time and skill too. However I love the smell of washed and dried vessels in the morning - thanks to the the washing pellets - though the salt, tablets and rinse aid make it an expensive proposition. The cups are tea stain free, the tea strainers look brand new and the plates shine. But there are many things that cant go in especially in Indian cooking. The non stick
cookware, Tupperware, anodised vessels like pressure cookers, aluminium etc. people do keep them but they lose their shine or colour.
A dishwasher is a bit like owning an elephant as we would say in Kerala. The wash time is 3 hours average for an eco wash, the express wash in 1.5 hrs cant use a tablet, so i havent tried it. The eco wash apparently optimises water and temperature.
So I will have to wait for the electricity bill for the final verdict.
