Cousin bonding

Soon after our return from India, we had guests. The kids first cousins and their parents for a week.
Now all quiet once again.

It meant a week of rollicking fun for the children with mall trips, fast food and chatting in Cafés. The youngest had his birthday celebration on the 6th, which was the reason for the visit.

The father left after the weekend, so we ladies escorted the kids to Yas water world in Abu Dhabi one day. After dropping off the kids, the two of us went to see the Abrahamic Family House, a new addition to the tourist itinerary (free entry). It houses a church, a mosque and a synagogue, exquisitely designed by a Ghanaian architect. We decided to don abayas to enter the mosque, and contrary to general perception about the gown, we felt exhilarated and liberated! Our friendly lady guide helped us secure the head scarf tightly.
After downing a cup of coffee latte and superflaky croissants at the inhouse cafe, we went to see the presidential Palace, Qasr al Watn, a part of which has been opened for public viewing for an entry fee of 65 dh. Energised by a late Kerala meal at the nearest mall, we went off to collect the kids and head home.
