Quirky space

The office space is artistic, fun and quirky. It is in a building with offices on one side and residences on the other, it has made commute easy for me, touchwood. V drops me in the morning and I walk home in the evening.
The atmosphere is casual and friendly unlike the stale and vicious one in Chennai. It is good to be working with people from different Arab countries - they speak their mind, not the back-biting we were used to newspaper offices.

There is a kitchen and dining area in middle, kept extremely clean by a Filipino support staff. Some choose to sit and work on the dining table at times or on the gallery steps in the other  side. The gallery has a nook where an occasional worker chooses to work on a cushion or nap (sometimes).
I settle in the morning with a cup of coffee or mocha. In the first week I needed more coffee to ward off sleep used as I was to taking a nap whenever I wanted at home.

The work is challenging but interesting - writing / editing press releases, writing VIP speeches and quotes etc. I am yet to do speech writing. Sometimes I feel I wont make it, but I hope I do.

For some time my Whatsapp status was: Miracles happen to those who believe in miracles.

I believe this is one - joining a full-time job after 7 years, a Linkedin contact who responds to my job query just when I was beginning to feel it was a useless forum, a job that doesnt involve the dreaded Shj-Dxb commute, and no formal wear which I dread. And my immediate boss is kind and patient though younger to me in age. And a two-day weekend.
I hope this miracle continues to be one.

p.s. The last big miracle was being able to leave Chennai and shift here - which made a big change in Ash's life. His eczema became manageable, and he began to look and feel like a normal kid.
