PCR ready

For the first time, I took a PCR test  - at a drive-in facility on Friday evening. Though I have dreaded travelling to India on account of the numerous PCR tests involved, this time I had no choice. I was attending an event on Sept 26-27 in Sharjah.
As for the PCR test, though it was unpleasant for a while, the nurse did a good job. There was no endless queue and our car was second in line. By midnight, the result was received on my phone.
The event I was attending was IGCF 2021 at the Expo Centre, and I was covering some of the programs for a PR agency. So for two days I was terribly busy and occupied during the day and afternoon naps never crossed my mind.
The best part was V letting me sleep on at 5 am and helping Mira go off to school after a small breakfast. He also got ready early in order to drop me on time, and the two days he was punctual to work.
The kids managed on junk food during the day and bread and noodles etc. I had excellent food at the event centre though the work kept me on my toes. I could also meet some of the media fraternity and some others and catch a glimpse of VIPs including local. There were freebies like power banks and chargers for participants. The venue looked classy unlike the crowded atmosphere we are used when we attend the book fair at the same venue.
And now it is back to my boring life. It is like being dropped from heaven to earth!
p.s. The big surprise was seeing the newspaper we subscribe using one of my pieces with their reporter's name! Guess this is the norm.
