Walking for good health

For a change, I took Ash along for a night walk around the amphitheatre. He likes to walk on his own, when he does step out of his dungeon, to the Qasba canal listening to music and thinking up new music to score. It is Mira who usually comes for a walk with me, which is not regularly, but when she is in the mood for a talk and walk.

Mira had already had her outing with a classmate on another stretch of the corniche, so I dragged Ash out for company. The amphitheatre, situated on a man-made mini island, is beautiful and serene but can get a bit too lonely and depressing if you are on your own. There was no programme this weekend at the amphitheatre, so only a steady stream of joggers were around. Me and Ash decided to race each other on the 800 m jogging track. He ran on while I stopped after a while panting. At least I was happy I could get him to run and exercise. Best of all was the parent-child bonding such exercises can engender.
