Impediments to beauty

Mira did her first pedicure yesterday. She has been subject to waxing (legs), manicure and eyebrows plucking. Though she has a habit of asking her father an opinion on everything she has to do or has done/ experienced (including her first periods!!)  and doesn’t trust my opinion, she is beginning to enjoy the beauty plot after the first confession to V about waxed legs.

Next she wants contact lenses since girls at school use them. I tell her it’s not very easy maintaining it. I had used it for some years preceding my wedding to the time Ash was born. Since I had no time for it with a baby to take care of, I discarded it.

As a kid she craved for glasses, now she detests them. Both kids have been wearing spectacles since July 2019, our last trip to India. The branded frames were bought here and the lenses fixed by our old friend and optician Hasmukh Shah in Chennai.

She’s not happy with the Ray Ban specs and is looking to replace it with a retro model that is in vogue now.
