Five *****

The simplest cake - a chocolate truffle - we could order owing to Ash's allergies. This is almost becoming a standard, since V is against theme cakes with a lot of fresh cream in colour. Though Mira initially asked us for a cake modelled on the new cuckoo clock at home, she was terribly confused yet excited when she saw the catalogue at the baker's. She couldnt decide between Dora and a train, while I tried to push for a snow man which had just two colours and not much cream. V's decision prevailed, however.

With my dad, who makes it a point to visit us on the kids' birthdays almost always. Early morning, ready for school.... She reportedly got a peck on her cheek from Ash's teacher last year when she gave her a chocolate - it made her happier than any other gift she got.

Yes, that box had 40 bars @Rs 10 each. Gone are the days when we gave an eclair or 2 parrys muttai on b'days. Now the standard is Rs. 5 choc. bars. Maybe as they grow up, the celebrations will decrease.
Ush: There are 30 students in her class, plus the teachers in the 3 other UKG divisions, and 2 ayahs. M was sad she couldnt give the 90 other UKG students! Gave separate candies for the van companions.
