Waiters

We keep telling the kids that if we dont pay for food we eat at the restaurant we will have to grind dosa batter for them (once upon a time that was a tough job as it had to be done manually using a huge polished stone).

Two days back as we were having our dinner at a restaurant, Mira asked me: Will they make us work for them if we dont pay?

I nodded.

"Oh, these men in uniform here (the waiters), did they also not pay for their food? Is that why they are working here??
