Jesus & lies

I am usually struggling to give Ash the right replies for his innumerable questions. Such as:
"When will Jesus cut one's tongue for telling lies?"
"When we reach the gates of heaven," I tell  him.
or
"How can he hear what we are saying when heaven is so far away?"
I tell him He is sitting in our midst and that we cant see him.

Sometimes the anwers dont seem credible.

Holiday fun

With my dad around from Saturday till today, the kids had a lot of fun
during their first term vacation. Luckily I could get to spent 4 days
at a stretch with them.
We did the South India heritage tour at Dakshinchitra on Sunday. The
kids had a lot of fun trying out the various activities on offer for a
small price - basket weaving, palmleaf ball making, pottery class, and
mehendi art for Mira's palm.
Our lil Nigella Lawson (with a scarf from DC) also does her own
imaginary cooking sessions at night.
Since I had dropped plans of taking them to Pondy on my own for 2
days, I took them instead for a movie - Zookeeper - and to British
Council.

Gender

Ash has generously told me that he will give Rs. 2000 when he grows up and gets a job. I am not sure if that is going to be a one-time payment or a monthly one.
For his dad, the grant will be Rs. 5000.
Gender differences are already ingrained in his mind. He has already learnt to say that boys/men dont do certain jobs around the house - not that anybody at home has advised him on that front. He has either learnt it by observing men at home or from friends at school.
p.s. My dad is here to spend some days with his grandchildren. The first-term vacation has started and with V busy as usual, they will be stuck at home during the 10 day hols.

If I thought I wouldnt be able to withstand the trauma of watching #Aadujeevitham / #Goat Life, a real-life survival drama starring Prithvi...
